What Volunteering Looks Like

The Bethel Wood Bank is entirely volunteer-run. From preparing firewood to delivering it to homes, volunteers make every part of our work possible. Whether you have a few hours or can help throughout the season, your time has a direct and meaningful impact.

Ways to Volunteer

Volunteers support the wood bank in a variety of ways, including:

  • Cutting and splitting firewood

  • Stacking, sorting, and organizing wood piles

  • Delivering firewood to local households

  • Assisting with safety oversight and site coordination

  • Helping with administrative tasks or community outreach

You don’t need to choose just one role—many volunteers help in more than one way.

What to Expect

We aim to make volunteering safe, flexible, and rewarding:

  • Scheduling that works around your availability

  • Clear safety guidelines and on-site coordination

  • A supportive, community-centered environment

  • A tangible impact you can see and feel

No prior experience is necessary. Training and safety guidance are provided for all volunteer roles.
